Hi guys. I noticed that to make sculptures from Papier mache we need an armature. I thought that chicken wire would be the best. But living in Romania and not knowing Romanian I do not know where I can get chicken wire from. I mean like from what stores. If there is any Romanian in this forum please help me out. Also I heard from somewhere that chicken wire is notneccsasary. But to make sculptures what other materials can I use?

anything sturdy can be used as a potential armeture, depending on what you're trying to make: cardboard, coat hanger wires, sticks, paper clips, wood, found objects etc. i'm not sure what kind of stores are found in your neck of the woods, but chicken wire can be found usually at hardware and maybe home improvment stores. online might be the best place to find what you need. dick blick sells an assortment of craft wire mesh and other armature supplies.
