Hi Michelle,
You may want to check the article "Conservation and Restoration - Ask Alexandra!" available in the articles section here:

Should get you on the right track at least... good luck!

Hello.
A few cleaning tips:
1. Check for strength. Do not attempt to clean it if it is deteriorating.
2. Test cleaning on an area that will not show.
3. Gently wipe with soft cloth or cotton swab.
4. Use dry artist paint brushes for dusting.
5. Do not dip in water or wet solution.
Note: PM that has a varnish or protective finish is easier to clean. Unprotected PM with painted surface can smear, bleed or be rubbed off.
Hope this helps.

Hi Michelle
Further to the good advice that Rozani has given -
I have found that it is not very easy to clean pm dolls. You cannot use anything water based so are quite limited. I have had reasonable success using a clean good quality rubber and just rubbing the surface area gently and also using a piece of white bread rolled into a ball and rubbed over the surface.
Hope this may be of some use.
