Does anyone want to make a large papier mache elephant. 3ft high and 3ft long Have you experience in large creatures? It is for an events company and it is not really what I am experienced in doing. It does not have to be finished with paint.
They will pay reasonable money for it and it has to end up in the USA but I can get it fedexed.
It is required January and there may be more in the future.

I saw the pictures of your horse and was impressed but concerned that my house will be taken over by elephant and it will take me forever. How long did the horse take you so far and what stage is it at?

Thank, will bear in mind but now the client has postponed for a bit!! Typical. I am new to the forum and not sure how you go about contacting people personally, advice would be useful.
I used a pseudonym (not sure why) as most other people do, but then if you want to get business contacts is that all a bit cloak and dagger....not sure?

Well I haven't been working on it lately... I have 1 layer of paper mache down on the body and Im completely done with the head. If I worked on it every day I could probably have gotten it done in about 2 months....speaking of which I should work on it this weekend....

I am late to post to this topic but if you are still looking for someone to make this elephant let me know. I have made several large animals and I have a 5 foot tall giraffe in my gallery under the name Monica Ramsey. You said the client had postponed, when do they need it.

There is no problem in contacting people individually, Anita. If they put their email as obtainable, you can assume they are happy with that.

A word of warning - make sure there is a real commitment on the part of someone commissioning and that they are happy with the proposed designs. You need to understand what it is for - i.e. how much weight it may have to take, what manhandling, whether indoors or outdoors, do they want it to be realistic or symbolic, etc. One friend was commissioned to do a complicated relief but, in the end, the purchaser declined the finished article. That was after weeks of work.
