If you look at a person's gallery, there is normally a link at the top which enables you to email them. There is no IM process.
However, the best method is to put a question into the General Forum because then several people can offer their ideas.

The initial post has been deleted. I'm afraid it was a rather clever tactic by a forum spammer in that they posted a non-suspicious message initially and then edited it later on to include their rubbish.
