Hope someone can help! I am a student teacher and really want to explore papier mache in the classroom as part of a project on movement and expression. The plan is for the children to produce a piece of work using papier mache that expresses a feeling through a pose of the body eg joy, sadness, happiness etc. I know that i will need them to produce some kind of armature and was wondering if any body had any suggestions as to what is best? I really want them to see papier mache as a worthwhile medium to use other than to just make a volcano! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I did something similar to this in school and we used rolled up newspaper covered in masking tape to make the armature, or you can have them use wire and newspaper too.
