Alternative to wallpaper paste?

Please could someone point me in the right direction for an alternative to wallpaper paste. ie. something that doesn't contain fungicide or any other kind of 'cide.

Thanks,

Andrew

Regular old white glue, slightly thinned with water.

I use a simple mix of 4 cups water to 1 cup flour to make a very effective paste. Add a splash of bleach to prevent mold.

Re: Alternative to wallpaper paste?

If you look for suppliers for specialist book repairs, conservation etc., you can find sources of hydrated methylated cellulose, which I understand is the basis of wallpaper paste, but without the fungicide.  Personally I never now use flour paste since it is so prone to mould if there is any level of dampness around. lol

Flour paste can also attract vermin.

Mice, rats, cockroaches, silverfish.  The same creatures that will infest grain will chew a grain product.
