I use casting pulp to forms for make paper bas-reliefs. Form a thick sheet of paper as in traditionally papermaking, then I stack it in the form and remove excess water with sponge.
It is may certainly not forming the sheet, and simply put the pulp into form.
The problems are:
I cannot sand or ground with gesso my final surfaceas as there are many fine details in a bas-relief.
I tried many methods, including the method of a porcelain pulp articled here. The result was bad. Yes, these methods give more smooth surface, but demand the further sand or ground processing.
I already used PVA, methyl cellulose, chalk, gypse, kaolin, gelatin but results was not.
Maybe someone help me with any advice?
Thanks
