I have been waiting with great interest for the furniture tutorial. Does anyone know about pm furniture making?

I know a *tiny little shred* about papier-mache furniture making. I recently made a stool out of papier-mache and recycled tin cans.
What are you planning on making?

Ive made an art table (very raw-primitive but it suits my needs), a three legged table and a stool. All of my furniture is made of large cardboard tubes (the kind used for large rolls of furniture plastic covering) and 'found' items. I want to make more elaborate pieces like drawered items.

besides the "legs" for the table you made- was the top of the table also cardboard ? Have you layered it with strip pm or pulp? can you send in a photo?

I used large cardboard tubes for the legs of my tables and strip/paste over embroidery hoops for the round table tops. For the stool, I used a cardboard top and styrofoam base over which I applied strip/paste. I will post 2 pics to my gallery. Remember-These are my first attempts.~tammy

I was just pointed to this site http://www.fedexfurniture.com/ and it looks pertinent to this discussion.
Now if he had only papier mached over the boxes and painted them and not told anyone where he got the boxes, he wouldn't have FedEx trying to shut him down. Still it proves the point that cardboard boxes are strong enough to be furniture.

I thought the same thing when I saw that site myself Wile E. I thought it was a shame he didn't just use regular cardboard boxes. The PR blitz around it could of really brought the usefullness of papier-mache into the public eye.

If he would have paper mache'ed over it and painted it, he would have never been in the news.
