Hi, I've recently come across some paper mache figures that are dressed in 19th century winter clothing and appear to be window display advertising pieces. There is no name on them that I've been able to find. The clothing is very authentic and apears to be actual cloth conditioned with hardened paste. There are 17 of the figures with four children (2-3'tall) and 14 adults (4'tall). They are at least 50 years old because they were used in a local store front in the 50'-60's after being purchased from a larger metropolitan department store once they were done with them.
Do you know of any companythat made these commercially and the approximate worth of the set?

i remember seeing pm figures made by a company in scotland.. From memory it was UPC Ltd Scotland
their figures were quite detailed but Ithey were only in business for 4 years.. they always had the company name stamped into the bottom of the piece.. but i imagine its possible for it to wear off after such a long time but all of the pieces i have seen still have it on them.

Thanks for your input. The only info I have is that these are supposedly Dickens based characters. They are posed as carrolers with the children singing and running about. Their garments are meticulously prepared using authentic fabrics including some real fox stoles and lace on several of the dresses. The men are dressed in top coats with tails and top hats.
There are 13 men and women and four children. They are all attached to rectangular wooden bases with those wood planks being single boards over over 16" wide. Their hands are positioned to hold sheet music or Christmas caroll booklets on several of them.
Please help if you know of others like this or their origin.
