I need to know how to make a paper mache' sculpture of a Red Fox. I only need the frame of it, because I am going to sew fake fur onto it.

I need to make it look realistic, and in the right shape. wink

Re: Red Fox Sculpture??

Sorry no-one got back to you in time Bondie.

Papier mache is not the easiest medium to work with when you are so short of time, but if you still want to chance it, or for another time, have a look though the tutorials and previous forum messages for tips.

You don't have to use wire and netting to make a frame. If you don't want to make it too large, a few cardboard toilet rolls and rolled up/scrunched newspaper will give you a good armature.

Study pictures of foxes and look at the proportions. If you want to dry your papier mache more quickly you can place your item in front of an electric fan.

An alternative, as you say you haven't much time and you have some fake fur, how about making a 3D picture? - Draw a fox shape on a piece of paper, build it up with some srcunched papier mache to give it depth, then cover with the fur. It could look lovely. You could use dried grasses to stick around him.

I would think it would be great fun to make a fox, whichever way you do it, they are such beautiful creatures.
