Re: how to calculate ?

I'm assuming you mean a life-size model?

Take the measurements from whatever you're using as your reference material (a drawing/sketch, smaller figure, etc.) and then divide the desired height/length by that to get your conversion factor.  After that, you simply multiply all of your measurements by the conversion factor to get the dimensions you need for a larger sized figure.

For example, let's say I wanted to make a 5'10" (177.8 cm) life-sized Barbie doll, using a real Barbie doll as my model.  Barbie is around 11" high (27.9 cm), so, I'd divide 177.8 by 27.9 to get 6.37.  We'll round that up to 6.4, which is our conversion factor, now, all you need to do is multiply any measurements that you make on the Barbie doll by 6.4 to get the life-size dimensions you need.  For example, let's say a Barbie doll's arm is 4" (11.4 cm) long, multiply that by 6.4 to get the life-size value of 73.0 cm (28.7", slightly over two feet, which sounds about right to me).  I STRONGLY recommend you use the metric system, if you don't already do so, unless you really enjoy playing with fractions (the conversion factor for inches to centimeters is to multiply by 2.54, and the reverse, is to divide by 2.54).

Myself, I've got a spreadsheet at home that I designed from scratch, based on measurements from my own body, as well as various dolls, that allows me to instantly calculate all the lengths/widths for various parts of the human anatomy by simply putting in the value of the desired height I want.
