Mounted on one of Scotland's whisky barrel lids I have created this dragon from papier-mâché firstly creating the mouth and adding my own made porcelain clay teeth, then to the body which involves a lot of time waiting for pieces to dry, once dry I build up the dragon with lots of papier-mâché giving the dragon lots of texture and adding
cloth-mâché to give fine detail, once its complete the painting begins bringing my dragon to life.
Thoroughly enjoyed creating this piece working predominately with papier-mâché so much I am now creating another so keep you eye on him soon he will have a friend!

Excellent work; you could give Dan Reeder a run for his money with your ability to render dragons in papier mache!

That's splendid. It obviously took a lot of detailed work. "My own . . . teeth"?? Can you spare them?? How did you form the tendrils?

Mark Patraw thanks for your kind comments, mentioned in the same sentence as a fantastic artist such as Dan Reeder is praise enough. I equally enjoyed looking at your art work, some inspiring stuff, I will definitely be looking again.

David Osborne thanks for your comment, I shall hold on to my teeth for now!! the tendrils and whiskers are formed using soft wire giving form then wrapped in mache and cloth to give strength. Love the freedom of your work by the way huge result with the hares, you have perfectly captured the form of one of my favourite animals.
