Beautiful piece, although the neighborhood is starting to get awfully crowded in that tree! Did you paint the details, or are the surfaces more of a decoupage type thing?
When I first looked at the thumbnail image, I thought the houses were dice, which would have been an interesting, and surreal, concept.
Thank you Mark. I had fun doing this piece. The windows and doors are decoupaged. I am not a great painter so I decided to just paint tissue paper and glue them on. It gave me the look I was after.
Hi Diann! Thanks for visiting my page.I love this piece!
I cut the cardboard in small pieces, let in soak in hot water for a day and then put in in the blender,as other papers.later,I let it dry for some days, just for some of the water to evaporate. Then I make my paste, hand mixing with PVA glue, and putty.I start sculpting with a metal spatula, layering the piece.it takes some months!
best!
