Hello Sallie, could you tell me what you have inside your shakers? Did you use a balloon, fill it with rice, and then cover it with paper mache? Thank you for your time, they are cute and a lovely ideal for any age.
Thank you! Yes, I've been making these for many years... I have made them several different ways. It started with a dusty set of easter eggs filled with popcorn and rice. Really good soundwise but not always available. I have tried balloons too. Now I use a mold and split it to remove the mold.
I like popcorn and rice the best, but beans, lentils and even BB's give some other great sounds. It's easy to overfill them. If you do, you get sort of a dud sound and not as much action.
