A natural seashell, transformed into a bell using papier mache and metal findings. I cut the wide end off of the shell, then buffed it with my Dremel. The papier mache at the top is a layer of masking tape, a layer of strip paper, and a thin layer of paper pulp, in which I created the texture to mimic hammered metal. Painted to mimic aged patinated metal. Approx. 3.75in tall.
I've been experimenting with combining papier mache with other materials in this way. It's exciting!

Hi Renee. I love the way you explore things; like drips and splashes (splash bowl is wonderful. Also blending mediums like the shell and paper! Always a pleasure to see your work.
