I made this Elvis bat for a group exhibition consisting of Elvis themed art in Helsinki January 2012. The bat is made out of paper, wire, and modelling clay.
Never seen Elvis interpreted in this way, and I like it. The subtle pattern on the wings (wallpaper, gift wrap?) really adds a lot to their appearance.
Hi and thank you for your comments.
The wings are made out of wrinkled brown packing paper, which I first painted black and then gold. When the wings were black they actually looked like a real bat skin! The smallest details are made out of glitter glue.
