This might as well be a chameleon. It is very hard to photograph as differing light makes it appear more gold, copper, pink, green, blue and so on. I will get it properly photographed, but until then here she is via my iPhone. Sorry about my thumb in the photo.

Don't worry about the thumb - it gives perspective. Great moulding. The hair must have taken a lot of time. Good finish - is it paint or metallised wax?

The hair was a pain actually. Could have made the snakes bigger to make life easier. I got fed-up with it and did not do enough layers and as a result the forehead did not come out true to the mould. I could also post the clay model, I suppose. I never heard of metallised wax but will go find out what it is. The mask is painted with acrylics. I struggle when it comes finishing the masks because I can't seem to find a resource on various materials and finishing effects. I took an acrylic painting class once but found it a waste of my time and didn't finish. I did a week-long madk-making course in Italy, but it was more useful for the modeling and casting than the painting/dexmcoration, which was my key interest.
Plus when I got back, I couldn't get the materials I used there in the UK, which was frustrating.

Hi Leah. Wonderfully snakey-Medusa. The bunny-mask is very effective...looks to me like you are doing very well with finishes...just keep doing it.

Excellent mask of the infamous Gorgon. I particularly like the expression and your finish has a classical Greek feel to it. The photograph looks fine to me, and I would even argue that the diverse mixture of colors that you're getting actually enhances the presentation, rather than taking away from it.

That is really good, are you proffessional, you really should be!
The pink and blue that you apologised for makes it have a great effect on the Medusa. I could easily tell it was medusa straight away.

Thanks Rubie! People tell me I should try and sell them, but I have never had the confidence for it. Thanks (to Rubie and others above) for taking the time to comment as it makes such a difference! Leah

Nice work. Incidentally, I just posted a Medusa too, and interestingly, with an open mouth also. Sell when they ask for it, it is an incentive to make more. And more means more progress, better work. :)
