I chose not to give it a face as I didn't want it to be seen as female or male. The base of the figure is made of paper mache and branches and covered with paper clay. The paper clay allows me to give it a more detailed and delicate look. The hair/head piece is probably my favourite thing about this doll. I used small pieces of very thin tree bark which I collected from the forests of Whistler, BC. I think this doll will look lovely hanging on the wall.
