Owl #3 was made as a tree topper, and so had to be as light as possible, but still durable. The cartonnage body shell was formed over a clay shape. The dried shell was cut in two to remove the clay, and then glued together with more strip technique. The rest of his parts are cartonnage of brown paper, Modge Podge Glue and acrylic paint. Wire reinforces his legs and claws. He is approximately 15.5 inches from wing-tip to tail-tip, and weighs 11 ounces.

Beautiful! Do you sell your work, and is it hard to part them after such intense labour?
