This piece was created out of a pure love for figurative sculpture using hand formed paper-mache over free form wire. The dimensions are roughly 2.5" Wx4"Hx10"D and is a wall mounted relief. The piece has been sanded and built up with a minor use of paper clay, oils, metal leaf, rub'n'buffed , then wax finished. That is superb moulding (OK, molding to you). I am amazed that you can get such detail in such a relatively small size piece.

Thank you for the comment David, if i can explain though? I haven't been able to write a profile yet as I am just getting home from work and just entered my photos this morning. Actually all my paper-mache is hand sculpted with tools over a free formed wire armature. I build, then sand ,build then sand, and in the case of this piece I use dremmel tools. Bigger pieces I'll use a power sander. None of my pieces are cast, each one is the only one. To get very fine detail, I smooth out with a paper-c lay product. In answer to your ? on how do I get such fine detail? Wearing my reading glasses and I love tedious work! I also do shell mosaics on furniture, aquariums, etc.
