Statue of Liberty

My latest paper mache commission -- a 10 foot tall replica of the Statue of Liberty .... (Note that for easier shipping and storage (not to mention my ceilings are only 8 feet tall) she has been fashioned with a detachable right arm (including her torch and flames) as seen there in front)...

Hi Patience:

I love your horsehead masks (all the masks, actually). I just finished a bull's full-head mask and discovered the challenge of matching human eyes to mask eyeholes.

Your bio sounds so much like me, I just had to say "hi".

Regards, Scylla

Greetings, Scylla: It's a pleasure to meet you -- thanks so much for the note, and for the kind words regarding my masks. And yes indeed -- matching those eye holes to actual eyes IS a real challenge!

Thanks again, Scylla -- please drop by again soon...

Sincerely,

Patience

Absolutely beautiful! What did you use for the armature? Thanks.

Hi Terry! Thanks so much for the complement -- as for the armature, I used chicken wire and wire screening over a wooden base I constructed with 2 x 4's. Quite the process really...! (if interested, feel free to read further details in my blog: art-of-patience.blogspot.com/)
