Oriental Gentleman with beard, and Chinese opera lady companion - commission for Venice Carnivale 2008. These were the first masks I was asked to make to be worn to the Venice Carnivale. It was such an honour to be commissioned, but also quite nervewracking, considering the magnificence of the Venetian masters.
The couple who commissioned me specifically wanted full face masks, but with open-mouths to enable them to breathe more easily, as they would be wearing them for many hours at a time.
