Hi! I am new to paper mache and was wondering if construction paper is too heavy of a paper to use for paper mache? Thanks!

Construction paper is sometimes too thick and heavy for papier mache, but it might be good for forming a sturdy base. Then you could put thinner paper on top of the construction paper for a smoother surface. Try a simple basic form as an experiment and see if what you get is what you want.
