Have read several different ways of applying pm. Want to know if there really is an advantage of one over the other.
1.Smearing paste over a section of project. Lay strip of paper onto the area and smooth down with more paste. Do not dip strips into paste.
2.Dip strips into paste, remove excess paste and apply to project.
Also, I use a paste made from water and flour. I have just found a few pieces I made several years ago that have cracked. These peices were painted and sealed. I live in Arizona where the climate is very dry. Would like to know if anyone has had a similar experience.

Some of my pieces have cracked as well. It must have something to do with drying time. I live in Michigan, and I have had a mildew problem too, even though the pieces were sealed. I put salt in the mixture to deter mildew, but have found nothing that will stop cracking. The fact is, though, that I don't even use flour anymore. Decoupage medium is less messy and I find I can bring out more detail. So far, I have had no problems.
