What is styropolene? Where does one usually purchase it?
I find it difficult to sand by hand as I have a weakened wrist. Has anyone found a power tool that is small and won't rip the papier mache or pulp?

I dont know where in the world you live, but over here in australia there is a small sanding machine made by black and decker called a mouse.
It is about the size of a computer mouse and works really well. It has a pointed tip for getting into corners, crevices etc and a flat surface for larger areas. The amount of sanding depends on the pressure you place on it. It is very egonomic as well , shaped to fit in the palm of your hand.

I looked up styropolene and didn't find anything on it. Are you sure your spelling that right?
As for a small sanding tool, you can also use a Dremel. Its an electric handle with small sanding and polishing bits, they will even fit in your electric drill. This is an excellent tool for really small projects. Hope this helps.
