I'm trying to make a tiki mask that fits over my head and papier mache seems the way to go (light and strong)
The problem I am having is finding something to use as a form for the mask. I've tried to find large cardboard tubes to make the mask and then form mouth (which is where my face would show) and eyes and such. But can't find anything that is about 16 inches in diameter.
Any suggestions?

Hi BigKahuna
(Your name reminds me of the 50's novel "Gidget".)
You can use a helmet form that you can order from Rozani. She's a member of this forum, but here's the link to her auction: http://www.rozani.com/auction.htm
Scroll down to see the helmets.
You can also make a front and a back to your mask, using a balloon for the rounded form, then glue or papiermache the two halves together.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Jonette

make form out of chicken wire..........it can be integrated as part of permanent structure or pulled off the inside after you are finished.
